Mak Sun

Founder and CEO

With a diverse background spanning both the private and public health sectors, Mak has worked extensively in hospitals and aged care facilities, gaining invaluable insight into the challenges faced by both care recipients and carers. Throughout his career, Mak found that there were gaps in service provision and unmet needs within the healthcare and caregiving sectors. This experience motivated him to establish an organisation where he could bring positive change and contribute meaningfully to his clients and the community.
Founder and CEO of Malex Care, Mak Sun runs a Cambodian cooking class to help participants to connect with their local community and make lasting friendships.
His deep understanding of the complexities of caregiving – combined with his passion for improving quality of life – has been a driving force behind the creation of Malex Care, which prioritises person-centred care and community empowerment. A strong advocate for empowering individuals, Mak believes in the importance of building strong support networks that foster connection, learning, and shared experiences. He has a vision of a care system where people are not only supported in their daily lives but are also given the tools to thrive independently; whether through social support, advocacy, or in-home care.

Mak continues to inspire positive change in the aged care and disability sectors. His work at Malex Care is a reflection of his belief that everyone should live a life of dignity, independence, and connection.
